I was driving home when I noticed a small abscess developing. After driving a couple hundred miles I stopped to take my dog out, and when I stood up, I realized I had a serious problem. I was happy to find Hood River Memorial was only seven miles away. Some of the many amazing experiences I had at this hospital began at this point and I wish to express my gratitude the wonderful people who cared for me.

When my journey began, I called and explained my situation to the registrar, Elisa, and she calmly explained how to get there and where to go once I got there. Once I got to the hospital, Elisa and the rest of the hospital staff not only took great care of me - they made sure my dog that was still in my car was taken care of until I was able to leave the hospital. I will never forget, as I was being wheeled to the OR one of the nurses grabbed my hand, looked me in the eye and told me not to worry – they would take care of my baby. My experience at Hood River was the absolute greatest experience during one of the scariest moments of my life. - Scott
